Attitude of Gratitude

Does Deliberate Attraction Ever Not Work?

Simply put, the Law of Attraction says that you will attract into your life whatever you focus on. Whatever you give your energy and attention to will come back to you. So, if you stay focused on the good and positive things in your life, you will automatically attract more good and positive things into your life.

So when you attempt deliberate attraction why don’t you always create the reality you ask for?

The LOA does not work according to your conscious thoughts but according to your sub-conscious vibrational thoughts. It is Law and will always apply. Just like gravity.

But…..

Do you have a nagging doubt?

Do you have a feeling that what you are asking for is more than you can receive, or more than you deserve?

Do you want something someone else has because you are envious?

Any sort of negative thought or emotion:

  • Guilt & shame

  • Negative emotions anger or resentment, jealousy, and pride

  • Fear and anxiety & self pity

  • Idleness

  • Ingratitude

...will prevent you being on the right wavelength, or frequency of vibration to be able to receive what you think you are asking . The process of deliberate attraction of what you think you are focusing on will be thwarted because the reality is that you are subconsciously focusing on failing to achieve it - you are pushing it away.

It is rather like tuning your radio to the frequency of the radio station you want to listen to. If the music you want to hear is on 101.4 FM and you are dialled in to 97.2 FM you won't hear the music!

So how can we get rid of the interference to our reception and be properly tuned in so that we can receive the answers? 1) - Guilt and Shame

Guilt, shame and the associated feelings of unworthiness will certainly knock the tuning dial away from the frequency you need. Like attracts like. How can your deliberate attraction include receiving abundance and manifesting money if you feel inside that in someway you don’t really deserve it?

Such feelings stem from doing something that we know or feel to be wrong, or a mistake that we have made in the past. So what can we do about it?

You may not like the word, but the answer is repentance. : the activity of reviewing one's actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better.

We can stop doing whatever it is that causes those feelings, which may not be easy as humans can have very addictive natures. We can make restitution as best we can. If we have hurt or offended someone we can apologise and do whatever we can to repair any damage. We can forgive ourselves. Often we are our own harshest judges and beat ourselves up when we needn’t. We can recognise that we are human and make mistakes, and move on.

Christians believe that Jesus atoned for our wrong-doings, that He paid the price and so takes away our shame and guilt. Other religions or beliefs suggest that there is no absolute right or wrong and so therefore we cannot dwell on the negative emotions but seek peace through learning from these experiences.

However I am not talking here about religion and salvation - that is a different conversation - but how to be effective in deliberate attraction and manifesting your desires. So if you have feelings like this that hinder the process then do what is necessary for you to feel comfortable accepting good things and lose any feelings of guilt.

2) - Resentment, Jealousy and Pride

If you have anger, resentment or jealousy you have to let go of it. As you repent and change your behaviours you will need to forgive yourself and move on. You also need to forgive other people their errors. Take a view that they did what they did because they had not yet learned any better. Because that is the truth!

Harbouring bitterness is like wanting to take revenge on the snake that bit you rather that extracting the poison of their bite!

Pride means we are trying to take the credit for everything whereas there are normally a great number of different resources and people that come together to provide what we want.

We need to recognise that and stop being so full of our own importance. We have to overcome pride and recognise that there are greater powers in the universe than us, that we rely on. The air that we breathe the food that we eat is all provided for us regardless of what we do. 3) - Fear and Anxiety

Fear and anxiety stop us from aligning ourselves with the answer and receiving it. What is the point of asking and then fearing, doubting or being anxious?

Dale Carnegie “Our fatigue is often caused not by work, but by worry, frustration and resentment.”

If we ask for our situation to improve, but then go back and wallow in self-pity or focus on what is wrong without attempting to reach for the better place ourselves e will just continue to experience more of the same.

4) - Idleness and Procrastination

You don’t get what you want and then put forth effort. You put forth effort first. If you don’t direct and improve your life no-one else will. Successful people do what others don’t like to do.

Magnify your calling in every area of your life. Live it to the full and give of your best in whatever you engage in.

We cannot excuse lack of work and effort on the basis that through deliberate attraction everything just lands in our lap. It won’t work quite like that.

We can absolutely learn and be inspired to work smart and be wise in what action we take, when and how. The headless chicken approach, where we do everything and run ourselves into the ground also betrays a lack of trust in abundance. It shows that we are relying on ourselves and trying to manipulate the process rather than let go and allow. But doing nothing will achieve the same result - Nothing!

5) - Ingratitude

We can show gratitude by acknowledging all things that have worked for our good, including those more challenging experiences that have taught us wisdom. Moreover if we don’t have gratitude we can very quickly fall into dissatisfied and negative thought regarding things as they are. And if we will attract more of it by virtue of the fact that we are focusing on it!

Attitude of Gratitude : Have a Grateful Heart

Feeling grateful or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life.

There are Three Levels of Gratitude:

1 – “Circumstantial”, where we say thank you when things “go our way” or we get something we want. Try keeping a gratitude journal. Every day list half a dozen ways the day was good, or note something that went well. Do it every day. Write “Thank you”. See the difference it makes.

2- “In spite of” – where we don’t like something, but we know that the challenge or whatever is for our higher good and that we know there will ultimately be benefits, blessings and opportunities so we choose to be grateful anyway

3- “Continuous” - We live in a continual state of thankfulness, seeing the good in everything and everyone. We need to strive for this so that whatever our circumstances and experiences we can find something to be grateful for.

Baha u’llah: “A thankful person is thankful under all circumstances. A complaining soul complains even if he lives in paradise”

Rabbi Harold Kushner: “If you concentrate on finding what is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.”

We should strive to be in a state of continuous gratitude. Work on these things and you will find that deliberate attraction of the things you really want becomes easier and faster.
