There are simply too many people involved Network Marketing to be in any doubt about its future. As well as the millions of people actively involved on the ground involved in it there are many influential and prominent business leaders endorsing it.
Steven Covey (author - “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”) : "..this industry has come of age. It’s become undeniable that it is a viable way to entrepreneurship and independence for millions …. offering them more freedom.”
In the corporate world there may be a few at the top of the "pyramid" who earn exceptional amounts. Most people are paid just enough to keep them where they are and stop them from moving on. Progress up the corporate ladder is restricted by limited opportunities. (Hang on! Isn’t that pyramid accusation usually levelled at Network Marketing?) and loyalty never trumps economics in a downturn.
Looking For Alternatives Ways to Earn Additional Income in Difficult Times…
How often do you hear conversations at work where people say how they just cannot wait to get in in the morning? Jobs are no longer secure, pensions and nest-eggs are threatened. People do move jobs far more nowadays, and look for alternative sources when their primary income is under threat.
Starting any new business has risks but with traditional businesses even a low-cost franchise needs a 5 figure ($) investment. You can typically start in Network Marketing, a ready-made business, for under USD$100. On the scale of "business risk" it simply does not register.
Robert Kiyosaki (author - “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”) : “This offers a ready-made business system for anyone wanting to take control of their financial future.”
The Network Marketing industry is evolving. Communicating and doing the business is easier. The internet has made information freely available. You don't have to leave your home to see a presentation. It can even go straight to your mobile device. Through the web you can reach around the world and it is possible for anyone to build a truly global business.
As people better understand how and why it works, with less reliance on hype and excitement more eyes will be opened and it will attract those very people who want things to change....
Even now there is only a small fraction of the population actively involved in Network Marketing but as information and education improve so will its growth rate increase. At some point it may have a serious social impact.
Will Everybody Have a Network Marketing Business?
If you look at social trends there is what is called a “tipping point” or "the levels at which the momentum for change becomes unstoppable." Where is Network Marketing in terms of trends and fashions? Is it between a restrained tolerance and acceptance or is it becoming fashionable? And will it move on to being mainstream? Where is the tipping point?

People are looking at alternatives. Some who rejected it before are looking at it again as it is presented more sympathetically. Could it be that the future of Network Marketing lies in the ordinary - it becomes just the way things are done?
Wallace Wattles (author - "The Science of Getting Rich") : "Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan, et al., have been .... agents .....in the necessary work of systematizing and organizing productive industry…. But their day is nearly over. They have organized production and will soon be succeeded by the agents of the multitude, who will organize the machinery of distribution."
This was written in 1910, long before the Network Marketing business model was established. Farsighted people saw the need for continual change and development in our society, and Wattles even anticipated how it might happen.
How Will Network Marketing Growth Impact Us?
We can only speculate. Maybe not everyone will be able to attain a level of financial independence, but many will be able to make a significant supplementary income which will help them be in control of their lives. Here are some potential consequences:
People will do work they choose and not be driven by economic necessity.
Network Marketing will attract those who strive to improve their lives anyway, and are willing to take responsibility & action, and grow personally.
Employers will be challenged to attract and retain quality staff
There are many opportunities in diverse markets for masses to get involved in. Network Marketing has hardly scratched the surface. Its future is down to the participants to take it forward, hasten change and reap the rewards.
